Fresh off of a record sales year in 2013, the Dodge Journey SUV is making an even greater appeal to buyers’ wallets in 2014 by offering a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine and all-wheel drive on its more affordable SE trim. That added capability is now available on the 2014 Journey for $1,800 less, as the V6 and all-wheel-drive combo was previously limited to the pricier SXT trim and upward.
Producing 283 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, the Pentastar V6 creates a highly responsive ride while returning up to 24 mpg on the highway in the all-wheel-drive 2014 Dodge Journey SE. Helping conserve fuel is an advanced all-wheel-drive system that only sends power to the rear wheels when needed, driving just the front wheels at speeds less than 25 mph when the pavement is dry. At speeds greater than 25 mph, torque is sent to the rear wheels during cornering for smoother handling, but when the Journey surpasses 53 mph, the rear application of torque is minimized to further improve gas mileage.

Starting this spring, drivers will be able to purchase an all-new trim at the higher end of the Journey lineup. Introduced at the Chicago Auto Show last month, the 2014 Dodge Journey Crossroad will slot in between the SXT and Limited trims, and it will sport unique exterior styling like platinum-chrome accents on its front and rear fasciae, platinum-chrome side sills and 19-inch Hyper Black aluminum wheels. Inside, the new Journey Crossroad boasts a premium feel with leather-trimmed seats featuring sport-mesh cloth inserts and gray stitching, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and liquid-graphite accents on the instrument panel. Buyers also receive a Uconnect System with an 8.4-inch touchscreen that enables hands-free phone calls and streaming music.
