Back in Black: 2014 Jeep Altitude Special-Edition Models Unveiled

02/04/2014 (press release: CambridgePRGroup) // HOT SPRINGS, Ark. // Tim Parker Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram

Two years ago at the Houston Auto Show, Jeep introduced a new Grand Cherokee concept that was given the name “Altitude” by fans, and its popularity spurred a range of special-edition Altitude production models across the SUV brand’s lineup. With a refreshed 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and an all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee hitting the market, Jeep has decided to bring back the Altitude trims for the 2014 model year, and once again they boast a variety of bold blacked-out accents on their exteriors.

While the 2014 Jeep Compass Altitude and Jeep Patriot Altitude are already available at dealerships, the Altitude models for the Cherokee, Grand Cherokee and Wrangler made fitting debuts at the 2014 Houston Auto Show last month, and they will go on sale this spring. Receiving a stealthy makeover, the 2014 Jeep Cherokee Altitude features a black daylight opening and dons gloss black on its badging, grille surrounds, roof rails and the lower applique of its front fascia. The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude also sports gloss black on its badging and lower front-fascia applique, as well as on its front-grille bezel inserts, fog-lamp bezels, rear step pad surround and 20-inch five-spoke aluminum wheels.

“For Jeep fans who really want to stand out on the road, the gloss-black accents on the Altitude models are great complements to the already-aggressive styling of the all-new Cherokee and revamped Grand Cherokee,” said Tim Parker, dealer principal of Tim Parker Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, an Arkansas Jeep dealer. “As for the new Wrangler Altitude, the unique black touches help to convey the go-anywhere demeanor of the iconic off-road utility vehicle.”

The 2014 Jeep Wrangler Altitude is set apart by a matte-black grille with gloss-black Jeep badging, throats and headlamp rings, a matte-black “WRANGLER” hood decal, a standard body-color Freedom Top and more gloss black on the bumper appliques and 18-inch seven-spoke aluminum wheels. When it comes to other features and specs, the new Wrangler Altitude is based on the Sahara model, while the new Cherokee Altitude and Grand Cherokee Altitude build upon the Latitude and Laredo models, respectively.
