Winter has notoriously been classed as a season where women breathe a sigh of relief after a summer of sun and beach body worries. However for many, as the temperatures drop, the first signs of ageing appear. One of the most common areas to be affected is the skin around the eyes. The thin, fragile skin can become loose and wrinkled, start to sag, and make the eyes look tired and hollowed, adding years to the face.
One of the most effective treatments to help restore youthfulness to the face is Blepharoplasty surgery [Eye bag removal]. Despite the name this procedure can encompass a variety of treatments to remove excess skin and fatty tissue from above the eye. This involves the removal of the hood of skin which can develop as we get older. The surgery can also include the removal excess fatty tissue and skin from underneath the eyes, smoothing wrinkles to corners of the eyes, often known as crow’s feet.
The procedure is one of the most popular surgical treatments to reverse the signs of ageing. Taking between 1 to 3 hours to complete, stitches are usually removed within 3 to 7 days and most patients return to work a week after the procedure.
