Composite C1 won the third annual Critics’ Choice CMS Award 2014 in the Best Free .NET CMS category. The award is given by a panel of judges, selected from key players in the market – members of the CMS Critic and experts throughout the world.

“This year was a tough one when it came to selecting the best of the best in this category but after some tough decision making, the judges came to the decision that the CMS most deserving of this award this year is Composite C1,”- announced at the Critics’ Choice CMS Award on January the 21.

This time the CMS Critics’ Choice awards created categories by the programming language, enterprise size and additional qualities that help visitors determine which CMS they should use.

Composite C1 had a flying start with the strategy of targeting SMB companies that have enterprise demands but limited budgets and need to create professional looking websites in the Microsoft stack. The company’s choices paid off overtime and the reception by the growing open source community has been overwhelming and fantastic.

The CMS has been installed in 150 countries in a few years and the small team at Composite HQ left a huge foot print in Microsoft works already, especially in the U.S. market. The founders are at the moment in the North American region meeting the supporting C1-ers.

Composite C1 is the only, if not the first, open source CMS built on the Microsoft stack that offers a fully-functional CMS as a service in the cloud. This makes it a powerful tool not only for the SMB but also for companies that have a need for advanced cloud hosting. Website owners can opt for the Microsoft Azure cloud hosting tryout to give their authors and visitors around the globe an equally great experience.

It only takes a few clicks from the Composite C1 website to create a responsive turn-key website on a hosted environment closest to you and your audience.

“We are proud and humble about the many C1-ers supporting the project,” – comments Oskar Lauritzen, CEO of Composite C1.
