King Mohammed VI to pay official visit to Tunisia

05/28/2014 (press release: media1press)

HM King Mohammed VI will pay, on May 30 to June 1, 2014, an official visit to the Republic of Tunisia, at the invitation of President Mohamed Moncef Marzouki.

During this visit, HM the King will hold official talks with the president of Tunisia. The two heads of states will chair the signing ceremony of bilateral agreements related to the public and private sectors. President Marzouki will offer a dinner in honor of HM the King and the accompanying delegation.

HM the King will also give a speech before the members of the constituent national assembly.

This visit, the first since the election of the Tunisian President, Moncef Marzouki in 2011, aims at strengthening the cooperation between the two states, united by strong ties of brotherhood and long standing partnerships.

The Tunisia-Morocco relationship has significantly improved since the Tunisian revolution and representatives of both states have met many times since then to tighten the mutual links in the economy, politics, and also social aspects.

Although trade between the two countries has been rising steadily in recent years, it still remains fairly small compared to the volume of their trade with the European Union. King Mohammed VI’s visit to Tunisia should definitely give a new impetus to friendly and cordial bilateral relations between the two states.
