During the audience, HM the King reiterated his deep attachment to the strategic partnership, fruit of a longstanding and multidimensional alliance with the USA.

On his part, the US secretary of state reiterated President Obama’s attachment to deepening the singular strategic partnership with Morocco. Kerry also reiterated the US will to endeavor with Morocco for the consolidation of peace and stability regionally and internationally.

Regarding the African continent, the US secretary of state, who appreciated the Sovereign’s strong and constant engagement for the causes of the African continent’s stability and development, reiterated to the Sovereign invitation to participate in the USA-Africa summit scheduled for next August.

Kerry further praised HM The King’s constructive role and active contribution, in his capacity as chairman of Al Quds Committee, in efforts to reach a fair, final and comprehensive settlement to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, on the basis of the formula of two states living side by side in peace and security, in accordance with the United Nations resolutions.

Kerry is currently on an official visit to Morocco, mainly to co-chair the second session of the Morocco-US strategic dialog. The session began this Friday morning in Rabat, under the co-chairmanship of minister of foreign affairs and cooperation, Salaheddine Mezouar, and US secretary of state John Kerry.

Themed “strengthening solid cooperation ties between the two countries”, the meeting is an opportunity for the two countries to promote and expand economic, political, social, educational and cultural partnership.

Morocco, through its engagement for security and through the efficiency of its armed forces, is “a stabilization force” in the region, said Kerry at the opening of the session. Under the leadership of HM the King, Morocco has conducted major reforms, he added.

Rabat and Washington have repeatedly expressed resolve to open new horizons in their ties, in keeping with the joint communiqué released last November following the summit-meeting held in Washington between HM King Mohammed VI and President Barack Obama.
