As part of the Subaru Share the Love event last holiday season, Mastria Subaru raised more than $19,000 for the Blue Dog Shelter in Brockton, Mass., and this year, the South Shore Subaru dealership is looking to surpass that figure. For every new vehicle purchased or leased at Mastria Subaru from Nov. 20 through Jan. 2, Subaru will donate $250 to the buyer’s choice of either the Blue Dog Shelter or one of the automaker’s selected national charities: the ASPCA, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Meals On Wheels Association of America and the National Park Foundation.
Every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the Subaru Share the Love event, Mastria Subaru will once again team with the Blue Dog Shelter and J.M. Pet Resort to provide an adoption station, microchipping and nail clipping as well as clinics and demos for dog owners. All proceeds at these gatherings will benefit the Blue Dog Shelter, including the money raised from a weekly bake sale and a holiday plant and wreath sale on Dec. 13 and Dec. 20. “Dogs hold a special place in the hearts of many Subaru fans as well as the Mastria Auto Group family, so we want to do anything we can to help the Blue Dog Shelter provide local canines with a safe haven where they can receive healthcare and basic obedience training,” said Chris Dunn, general manager of Mastria Subaru. “Of course, if any customers would rather use Subaru’s donation to help their fellow man or our national parks instead, they’ll still be able to make a difference through the excellent national charities involved with the Share the Love event.”
Now entering its seventh year, Subaru’s Share the Love event has raised a total of $35 million for nonprofit organizations, and the automaker has pledged to donate another $15 million to its charitable partners this time around. Since its inception, the Subaru Share the Love event has benefited nearly 300 animal shelters, fulfilled more than 600 wishes for sick children, funded more than 1 million meal deliveries to seniors, and helped sustain more than 70 national parks.
