For the MMCO Auto family of Audi, Porsche and Volkswagen dealerships and service centers in Greater Philadelphia, 2015 will be a momentous year filled with new state-of-the-art facilities and expansions developed by Gardner/Fox Associates, Inc. Driven by rapid auto sales and a desire to meet that demand with fast and thorough service, MMCO Auto is investing more than $30 million to bring major changes to Audi Wynnewood, Audi Reading, Volkswagen Reading, Porsche Conshohocken and Audi Conshohocken, which will soon be replaced by Audi West Chester.
Ground has already been broken at 1412 Wilmington Pike in West Chester, Pa., where the new state-of-the art Audi West Chester dealership will open next fall as a larger replacement for Audi Conshohocken. To continue to serve existing customers of Audi Conshohocken, MMCO Auto is constructing a new Audi service center that will open in the same timeframe across the street at 1223 W Ridge Pike in Conshohocken, Pa. Leveraging the same space-efficient architecture as Audi West Chester, Audi Wynnewood will also be launching a new showroom and service facility by or around December 2015, while its existing building will be renovated to accommodate more service requests next door.
“Audi has set 47 straight monthly sales records and it has already reached record annual sales in 2014, so we’re expanding our Audi dealerships to make sure they always have a great selection of vehicles and a quick service turn-around amid that high demand,” said Keith Shaw, Corporate General Manager, MMCO Auto. “Regardless of how sales are trending nationally, though, we want the performance at our facilities to always be a bright spot for our customers, and that’s a significant reason why we’re making a big investment across all our stores. We want to be able to better serve our customers in the Philadelphia area.”
Sharing their location at 2746 Bernville Rd. in Leesport, Pa., both Audi Reading and Volkswagen Reading are benefiting from MMCO Auto’s recent investment as well. This spring, Audi Reading will move all of its sales and service consulting to a new showroom next door that features a climate-controlled service drive for customers. On the other hand, Volkswagen Reading recently received an open-concept renovation that brought an all-new waiting area, an expanded parts-and-accessories boutique, and a single streamlined area for reception, cashiering and vehicle pickup.
Once Audi Conshohocken is vacated as part of the move to Audi West Chester next fall, MMCO Auto will also begin an expansion of Porsche Conshohocken, utilizing the extra land to increase capacity and create a better experience for customers. Demand for Porsche vehicles remains at an all-time high in the United States, with the luxury auto brand’s year-to-date sales rising by 12 percent through November compared to the same period in its record-setting 2013.
