Monge & Associates takes on Kroger in $400,000 injury case

05/02/2013 (press release: tsegars) // Atlanta, GA, USA

In a dramatic turn of events, a customer hurt while shopping at Kroger, who the store initially refused to pay, won $400,000.00 in the legal case of Arrington v. The Kroger Company, Civil Action File No. 11EV012054J, State Court of Fulton County, Georgia.

According to the court documents, Theresa Arrington was injured after she fell in a puddle of water. The water was left behind by a cleaning crew as they maneuvered machinery up and down the aisles of the store. While shopping, the victim slipped and lacerated her leg on a shopping cart, court documents stated.

“Our attorneys put a lot of work into this case,” said Scott G. Monge, Firm Founder and lead counsel who represented injured shopper Theresa Arrington. “Our client was injured and sustained very serious complications from her injury. The legal team took immediate action and helped preserve her rights and fight for justice.”

The client suffered from an infection after her injury, court papers stated. The physicians prescribed her medication to fight the infection, but she had a bad reaction to the drugs and suffered a seizure. According to court filings, she then had to be treated in a hyperbaric chamber to treat the infection.

“She went through a lot,” said Attorney Nick Kasatkin. “She had to endure the hyperbaric chamber treatment for a long time.”

The Accident & Disability Attorneys of Monge & Associates has a winning record of fighting for clients involved in injury cases like Theresa Arrington’s.

“Our legal team is dedicated to getting the best results for our clients,” said Scott Monge. “We work tirelessly to bring justice to our clients and that’s what we did with this case. Businesses have a responsibility to keep their premises safe. There’s no reason a customer should have to fear for their safety while walking through the supermarket.”

According to court papers, the cleaning crew responsible for the spill, was captured on camera acknowledging the trail of water and continuing work without attempting to clean the spill or notify the proper staff about the issue.
