12/05/2014 (press release: CambridgePRGroup) // Hot Springs, Arkansas, United States // Tim Parker Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram
With the fastest and most powerful production muscle car in history on its way to dealerships, the Chrysler Group hopes that its 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat will also be a speedy seller. Packing a 707-horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V8 engine, the new range-topping Challenger recently left its assembly plant in Brampton, Ontario, to greet eager buyers at showrooms across the United States.
The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is certified by the National Hot Rod Association to sprint a quarter mile in just 11.2 seconds at 125 mph with its factory Pirelli P275/40ZR20 P Zero tires. Initial demand for the new muscle car has mimicked that torrid pace, with more than 4,500 requests placed by buyers in the first five days of orders back in September. Despite its unabashed focus on performance, the new Challenger SRT Hellcat still returns a respectable 22 mpg on the highway with its newly available smooth-shifting TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission.
“The new Challenger SRT Hellcat is a knockout punch from Dodge in the ongoing fight for muscle-car supremacy, and it has rejuvenated buyer interest in the segment,” said Tim Parker, dealer principal of Tim Parker Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, a Dodge dealership in Hot Springs, Ark. “Unlike some of the reigning muscle cars of the past, though, the SRT Hellcat won’t constantly drain your wallet or pocketbook at the gas pump, and it’s extremely refined and comfortable on the inside.”
Within its cabin, the 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat comes with aluminum trim, a 360-degree heated steering wheel and heated and ventilated front seats that can be wrapped in either Nappa leather with Alcantara inserts or premium Laguna leather. A seven-inch customizable driver information display screen in the gauge cluster and an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen in the center stack provide modern convenience and connectivity, while analog speedometer and tachometer gauges harken back to the “tic-toc-tach” gauges in the 1971 Challenger.
