Participants of the Payday Express Trainee Team Leader course have been promoted and are ready to begin work as Team Leaders.
The course, which began in February 2012, included high achieving Contact Centre and collections agents from the payday loan company, with each and every one of the scheme’s participants being promoted to Team Leader level by the end of the course, which finished in July 2012.
Those that took part in the course included members from the company’s contact centre, collections, marketing and business development teams.
Richard Turner, Human Resource Manager of Payday Express, said: “Our Trainee Team Leader course has seen much success, and during the course the participants were thoroughly coached on the various management skills that are required in order to become a successful team leader.”
As Trainee Team Leaders, the participants had to conduct monthly staff reviews; practice effective reporting; create and implement team incentives; work on interview techniques; learn about coaching and development; handle absences and operational overviews; deal with expressions of dissatisfaction; report to management; process suggestions and implement them where possible; and also handle and steer conversations during meetings. This is considered a vital part of the Trainee Team Leader programme, as it is essential that Team Leaders be able to communicate with their peers, other staff, their own managers and, most importantly, customers.
At the beginning of the course each of the participants wrote a personal development plan. In order to properly analyse this and their growth at different points within the programme, they were asked to conduct a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses/Limitations, Opportunities, and Threats) on themselves.
Following their time within the programme they had to develop a business plan that they would like to implement within the business, along with the results of their SWOT analysis in order to be signed off at the end of July 2012.
Therese Rydberg, Marketing Executive of Payday Express, said: “We have now started a second Trainee Team Leader programme, with six participants enrolled in it. We have great expectations for them and wish them the best of luck during the course.”
