Roberto Cavalli And MINI Team Up To Fight AIDS

06/04/2013 (press release: minipres) // Santa Ana, California, USA // Danielle Wilson

It’s no secret that MINI Coopers have always had a certain level of glitz and glamour to their name. MINI Coopers have always been celebrated for their funky, fun, and unconventional style by both mainstream individuals and the high fashion elite.

Many different celebrities have driven them around Hollywood, they have been featured in plenty of movies, and they even have been tricked out by some of the world’s most famous people. MINI is also known for letting fashion designers create their very own version of a MINI Cooper as a way to raise money and awareness for Life Ball, an annual charity ball in Vienna that focuses on raising money for AIDS research.

In the past dozen years, MINI Coopers have been decorated by some of the world’s foremost fashion designers before being auctioned off at the Life Ball. This tradition has been in place since 2001, and quickly became a way for the biggest and best in the fashion world to show how much they care. For example, 2005 was a year that Donatella Versace created her own MINI Cooper for charity work. In 2010, a new MINI Cabrio was updated and decorated by fashion legend Kenneth Cole.

Other participants included Diesel, DSQUARED, and Sir Elton John. It should come as little wonder to MINI fans around the world that Roberto Cavalli wanted to help create a hyper fashionable MINI Cooper for this year’s Life Ball auction.

For Cavalli’s MINI Cooper donation, he chose an elegant MINI Paceman due to its uniquely sporty, streamlined coupe design. The exterior paint done by Cavalli shimmers in the sun, and can change from brown to black depending on which way the sunlight hits it. On the roof of this one-of-a-kind Paceman, viewers can find Cavalli’s unique brand symbol. According to Roberto Cavalli, this charity MINI Cooper also comes with “Cavalli interiors,” giving the lucky buyer all the luxury that they would expect from such as well known fashion designer.

The goal of the Life Ball isn’t only about donating to AIDS research. Vienna’s Life Ball is also dedicated to helping spread awareness about the illness, helping educate everyone on the subject, and helping spread the word of tolerance towards those who have HIV/AIDS. Since the beginning of the Life Ball charity event, over half a million Euros have been raised for the cause. People who are in the know about Roberto Cavalli expect this year to be one of the most successful fundraising years in Life Ball’s 13 year long history.

Crevier MINI supports Roberto Cavalli, MINI Cooper, and the Life Ball in their efforts to help people who have contracted HIV and AIDS around the globe. This year, Crevier wants to congratulate Cavalli on his excellent design, and keep MINI fans updated on all the fun details about Life Ball.
