Now that 2013 is well and truly underway, it’s time to take a look at some of the new books available this year and the Book People has come up with a few must-have titles.

These books are likely to be flying off the shelves in 2013, but as always at the Book People, customers will be able to order them online and have them delivered directly to their home. They’re also available for the purse-friendly prices for which the online book retailer has become famous.

First up is Africa by Michael Bright. This beautiful hardback book accompanies the TV show narrated by David Attenborough currently being shown on BBC 1. If wildlife fans have been impressed with the stunning camera shots featured in the show, they will love the exquisite photography featured in the book. It explores Africa’s animals, plant life and landscapes, while lively text from Bright brings the images alive. And what’s more, it’s available from the Book People for just £9.99 instead of the RRP of £25.

Alternatively, shoppers may prefer Paul Hollywood’s Bread, which will be released in February to tie in with the BBC 2 series. In this publication, the Great British Bake Off judge shows eager bakers how to make everything from a white bloomer to crumpets and white chocolate and raspberry bread. The book has six chapters, each of which has five recipes, while step-by-step photos mean the recipes are fool proof.

Anyone looking to buy a book to make them laugh and cry will be able to purchase The Universe Versus Alex Woods by Gavin Extence in February. This unexpected story of friendship and an unlikely journey is both hilarious and heart-breaking and has already received positive reviews from critics.

Lindsay Eyers, social media manager at the Book People, said: “2013 looks set to be a great year for new releases and whether you’re looking for a kid’s story book or a title that’ll turn you into a master baker, we’ll have something for you.”

The Book People works with publishers to save its customers between 50 and 75 per cent on the price of its titles, while consumers can sign up to a Points Passport loyalty scheme that offers loads of great benefits.
