The refreshed 2015 Toyota Sienna will offer a number of family-friendly technologies when it goes on sale later this year, so it made a lot of sense for the minivan to debut with the help of some prominent tech-savvy families. Enlisting parents and children from the “Action Movie Kid” and “Convos with My 2-Year-Old” on YouTube and the “Eh Bee Family” from Vine, Toyota carried out its first-ever online-only vehicle unveiling last week, releasing a series of humorous videos featuring the 2015 Sienna that can be viewed at www.youtube.com/user/ToyotaUSA.
Along the exterior, the 2015 Toyota Sienna receives a redesigned front grille with a new hexagonal mesh insert and deepened creases along its flanks, while LED daytime running lights and headlamps will be newly available. The interior of the 2015 Sienna boasts new instrumental-panel gauges and more soft-touch materials to complement its abundance of tech features, including a new Driver Easy Speak system that can amplify a parent’s voice through the rear speakers so that they don’t have to yell back to their kids in the third row.
“The 2015 Toyota Sienna is designed for connected parents who want a vehicle that not only makes their daily duties easier and more enjoyable, but also keeps their kids comfortable and safe,” said Jeff Leclerc, general sales manager of Central Maine Toyota, a dealer of new and used minivans in Maine. “Even if you aren’t a social media superstar, you’ll still be able to fully appreciate the advanced technologies in the new Sienna because they will become second nature to you, just like driving itself.”
For the 2015 model year, the Sienna’s panoramic backup camera will become a standard feature, while an available 4.2-inch color multi-information display will make turn-by-turn directions easier to follow by showing them right in the instrument panel. On the center stack, an optional seven-inch capacitive touchscreen will allow drivers to customize their home screen with their favorite features and perform functions with a swiping motion. Yet another clever touch is the available pull-down conversation mirror, which lets parent drivers speak face-to-face with their children in the rear seats without having to turn their head away from the road.
