Chevrolet Europe had the pleasure this week of welcoming a very special guest at its European media launch of the all new Chevrolet Trax small SUV: Kenneth Merten, the United States Ambassador to the Republic of Croatia.
The VIP guest was welcomed by Vijay Iyer, Director of Communications of Chevrolet and Cadillac Europe, who walked him through the drive program that Chevrolet is hosting for international journalists over the course of the next six weeks on the Dalmatian Coast. Iyer also presented the Ambassador with a gold-colored special edition of the virtually indestructible One World Futbol.
“We are excited to see that Chevrolet chose Croatia and especially the beautiful coastal region of Zadar as the destination for the launch of its latest SUV,” said Ambassador Merten. “It is of utmost importance to me and all of us at the U.S. Embassy here in Croatia to support the communities in this country, therefore we are thankful for the present.”
“It was an honor to welcome Ambassador Merten to our event and offer him a glimpse behind the scenes,” said Vijay Iyer. “We would also like to thank the U.S. Embassy to the Republic of Croatia for recently adding a Chevrolet Volt to their fleet of vehicles.”
Chevrolet Europe will welcome about 1000 journalists and dealers from all over Europe to Zadar. Here, they have a first-hand opportunity to experience the all new Chevrolet Trax small SUV in an interactive drive presentation. Trax is the latest addition to the Chevrolet portfolio.
The One World Futbol Project and Chevrolet have partnered to bring the joy of soccer to youth around the globe. Chevrolet has pledged to donate 1.5 million virtually indestructible One World Futbols over three years through a network of organizations working with disadvantaged communities all over the world.

About the One World Futbol Project
Launched in July 2010, the One World Futbol Project developed the One World Futbol – the world’s first virtually-indestructible soccer ball that never needs a pump and never goes flat, even when punctured. For every ball bought at retail, the company donates a second ball to a community in need. The company also sells the One World Futbol directly to institutions and organizations, and works with schools, soccer teams, clubs and other organizations to help them raise funds while generating donated soccer balls at the same time. The One World Futbol Project is headquartered in Berkeley, California. To date, the One World Futbol has reached more than 137 countries through at least 138 organizations, keeping the spirit of play alive for an estimated 525,000 children and young people.
