Yak and Yeti Brewpub Celebrates 150 Years in Historic Establishment

05/23/2014 (press release: michelle2020) // Arvada, CO, USA // Angela Shugarts

Yak and Yeti Brewpub is celebrating 150 years in its current establishment, a reputedly haunted, historic house built in 1864 in Olde Town Arvada. The restaurant is commemorating the anniversary by hosting a celebratory event on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 3pm to close.

The first 150 guests will receive a complementary pint glass filled with a special commemorative brew called 150 Pale Ale. The commemorative brew was made especially for the anniversary celebration event and is an American-style pale ale made with an Indian sugar called jaggery.

The establishment is located in a house built by Eli Allen in 1864, finished by the Van Voorhis family in 1895. Throughout its years with various owners, several architects and designers added additional sections to the house, to produce the distinctive three-story establishment visible today.

“We are excited to commemorate the 150-year anniversary with a special brew. At Yak and Yeti, it’s all about the atmosphere,” said Adam Draeger, brew master of Yak and Yeti Brewpub. “Would you rather drink a beer in a strip mall or a cool 150-year old house?”

The restaurant has a lot to celebrate, including its six-year ownership by Dol Bhattarai and Great American Beer Festival (GABF) medal wins. Yak and Yeti Brewpub’s brew master Adam Draeger won a GABF silver medal for its Chai Milk Stout, a chai tea spiced stout, in 2013, in addition to its existing 2010 gold medal win for its Himalayan IPA, a dry-hopped India Pale Ale.

Yak and Yeti Brewpub is open Monday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. For more information about its 150-year celebration festivities, visit www.theyakandyeti.com.
